Earlier this afternoon I saw a three star Admiral on the VP Coronavirus briefing and he had real charts, and organization by subject matter, and it is the first time I have felt good in weeks. Then, this evening I saw a press briefing at the Pentagon with a Lieut. General, from my branch, Engineers, just knock my socks off with the kind of procurement and installation leadership I was begging for earlier today. The General said they are starting with 10,000 ICU beds in NYC and he wasn’t kidding a bit. We;’re finally showing the faces of operating guys who know how to do this stuff. The General talked about standardized contracts they are using to “rent” hotel rooms and other spaces and his model would work almost the same if he was procuring masks and heavy equipment. The professional are on the scene and they are wearing uniforms and I will sleep better tonight.
